Goddess of the Sea & Mother of Fish
With the theme “Animal Astratti” provided by I-Dott charity, I decided to focus on tropical sea life, more specifically, fish, jellyfish, corals and seaweeds, seahorses and starfish. These animals are all very colourful and flowing, creating a refreshing sense of happiness, freedom and exloration. This meant I was able to exaggerate certain features and colours of the animals to add a fantasy- like charm to the project. I hope feelings of joy and escapism are captivated and that these friendly fish make the consumer experience both the contrast of busyness and gentle flow portrayed.

To create the excitement intented within these design, I focus on the details of fine line, highlights, colour, shape and form by using acrylic pens and posca pens continulously throughout. This meant working into basic drawings with details and colour layering was manageable, before developing further into patterns/designs which I enhanced on photoshop whilst maintaining the hand rendered quality. All colours were well considered when creating or mimicking a fish, as well as where these illustrations would sit against each other. These designs are of seamless repeat, appearing as organic as a floral would, and without too much structure.

These interior designs are targeted towards family homes and living spaces such as living rooms, bathrooms and bedrooms, in hopes of creating an immersive experience within a comfortable environment, and an escape from the global pandemic.
Thematic, Colour, Contextual and Market Research
Using WGSN, the “Connected” series of colour forecasts for spring/summer 2022 interior, the palette “Euphoric” depicts the same energy this collection is intended to convey. The palette is said to “energise the mind, body and soul through the power of design”. It explores the power of design to boost moods and incite positivity, with an unapologetically exuberant colour palette.
Final Collection Designs
Design entered as part of the I-Dott 2021 competition, Animal Astratti category.

Fabric Furnishings
Although designed to fit the end use of a wallpaper, I wanted to play with this design on fabric. I digitally printed on Velvet Fever Poly Satin for its quality of playing with shadow and light, creating a movement in which the fish and jellies appear to be swimming.
